DAV#9 MARTINSBURG VAMC 2011
FISHING TOURNAMENT RULES

1. All Contestants must be an inpatient of the
Martinsburg VAMC with valid I.D. Next year
we hope to include all outpatients in another
special Fishing Tournament geared only to
outpatients.

2. All Contestants may only enter the largest
fish of their catch in EACH species. For example,
if you catch a 20-in Rainbow and then you catch
a 30-inch Brown Trout you may enter both of
them. You cannot enter two of the same fish
species. But you may enter fish from all species.
Only a Staff member or appointed person may
measure and fill out the Entry Form.

3. At days end and closing of the fishing trip,
only the largest fish of ANY of the species can be
entered. In short, whoever catches the longest
and the heaviest combined can send in an entry.
If Pete catches a 30-in Brown and Joe catches a
28-in Rainbow, and they are the biggest fish of
the day, they can send in an Entry Form with
their catch information.

4. Our Sports Cmt will have a running file of all
fish caught and as each trip takes place new and
bigger fish will eliminate the past record and
that past entry will be deleted from the running.
This way we will only have limited, largest, and
heaviest designated species to keep track of.

5. The person catching a qualifying fish cannot
give it to another Patient.

6. At the end of the same day, the Entry must be
mailed in. Stamped self-addressed envelopes are
provided. The measuring and weighing must
take place at the location where fish are caught,
hence it is easy to mail on the same day.

7. At the close of the Tournament, NOVEMBER
1st 2011, no more Entries will be accepted past
that date.
A grace period of only two days is applied.

8. Shortly after the tournament is closed, Mr.
Bob Manness and Staff will be notified of the
winners.
At that time, proper Certificates of Achievement
will be sent out.
We also will be inviting the winners of the
largest fish to our
Annual  "Banquet and Awards Dinner" for a
formal presentation
and a fine dinner.

9. As this is our first year, we realize that we
must learn along the way, hence All Rules are
subject to change or amended at the discretion
of DAV Chapter #9, Winchester, Virginia Sports
Cmt,
Final approval of the membership vote and the
Commander will make all final decisions, if an
agreement cannot be reached.
Non-negotiable.

10. In the event of a tie, Dual Awards will be
given out, but only one can be invited to the
Banquet and Awards dinner. A toss of a coin
will be appropriate to select the winner.

As Commander of Chapter #9, I wish to thank
Chief of Customer Services Bob Manness and
Hospital Director Ann Brown for their co-
operation, by realizing the therapeutic values of
the varied Chapter #9 Programs for it's
inpatients at the Martinsburg VAMC.
It is without a doubt that the Martinsburg
VAMC facility is a superior leader in its field
and will continue to develop and exemplify the
true meaning of Veterans’ care for years to come.
Thank you and Good luck. Enjoy the
