To all Veterans of the Middle East conflicts.
Thank You for your Service.

May we encourage you to join the DAV and
Men,Women and Family members to join the
DAVA-UNIT
and take the reigns to continue the responsibility to
carry on the support for your Brother Veterans and
their families on Capitol Hill.
New Leadership is needed to insure that all
Veterans’ VSO Organizations
continue to stay strong
to insure that we can continue to protect and improve
Veterans Benefits and due compensations.

We of the Vietnam Era,
like our Brothers of WW-II now mostly gone,
are seeing our ranks diminish from age, therefore,
it is urgent that our new
Warriors recognize this fact and
continue to carry the flag.
We of Stonewall Jackson Chapter #9 Welcome you all.

DSO/CSO
DISABLED AMERICAN VETERANS
CERTIFIED SERVICE OFFICER

I wish to extend a THANK YOU to all our Chapter
Members of
DAV #9 and DAVA UNIT # 9
for the excellent work you did on August 15th 2009 for
the
Wounded Warriors Day at Lake Holiday.

This day indeed was a Testament to your
Conviction to Cause.

Your efforts insured all who attended that the DAV is
truly there and always will be there to support every
Active duty, Veteran, and Family Member.
Through this Event several Milestones were
accomplished that will
Pave the Way for
Chapter # 9 to continue to Grow and be there for our
Troops.

I am looking forward to a Productive year with new and
thought out Creative ideas from all Members.
Although we do not have a Lodge that produces a
regular income
we are extremely
Effective in our Roles
and this coming year will set new
Precedents for the Future.

I, as your Commander, am Committed to the
Highest Degree to insure that We Continue to be the
Family that We have Grown into and to Guide you to
the best of my Abilities.

I invite all Members to call me and discuss any
situations or ideas that you may have prior to our next
scheduled Meetings, so we may present them to the
Entire Membership in a more Productive Way.

Gratitude Letters from patients in the PRRP program
have been posted on our web site
(Wounded Warriors Appreciation Day Link)
WWAD LINK

and I invite you all to read them, as I am sure you will
be Humbled and very Rewarded.
The 700 Pictures will also be posted when and only
when we have
Authorization from all 5 Hospitals that attended.

SPECIAL NOTE:

As We all should know,
the War in Iraq continues and the
War in Afghanistan is only just beginning.
We must now do everything possible to bring new
Members into the
DAV Family so We may insure that We are there at
every opportunity.

Our wounded troop numbers are staggering and the
KIA-Killed in Action figure grows every day.

That means that We MUST prepare and incorporate
new Procedures to
Address this growing need.
Let's not fail this immense Responsibility and the only
way to insure that We don't fail is to Come
“respectfully” to all Meetings as a DAV Member and do
your best in Recruiting.

Many new Programs and Procedures have been
brought to the table.
I ask you all to be Present.
Again,
JOB WELL DONE!,

Chance Bazzano.
Commander.
Service Officer.

From the Commander's Desk
To all Members of Chapter # 9

It has been an honor working with all of our dedicated
Members
over the last 9 months , as we, as DAV# 9,
have accomplished a great deal and have set in motion a
definite course for years to come.

Your commitment to our
Disabled Veterans and your hands-on physical participation
in
the many Projects we have accomplished
have made our Chapter very visible and respected within our
Community and tristate area as well.

I, as your Commander, am grateful for many of the successes
our Membership has produced, and wish to thank each and
every one of those dedicated Members who understood and
followed my leadership and proposals.

We now see approximately 30 Members at our regular
Meetings
and a full turn out for our Outside Projects
compared to prior elections in 2009.

We have organized several critical Committees and specific
Positions and created a
full-service Chapter
that can address most Veterans’ concerns.

Our Service Officer Force is Top Notch and has
produced countless high percentage claims returns with
no failures.
Our Treasurer and our Adjutant,
1st and 2nd Vice Commanders
have worked as a tight knit team and have
supported this Commander to the maximum
with their co-operation and willingness to accept my
proposals
and promotional creativity.

to assist anyone hospitalized and
to bring their situations of need to our attention.

Today, as well, we have initiated the
VETERANS EMPLOYMENT RESOURCE CENTER (VERC)
that will actively work with area businesses to
produce jobs for our Disabled Veterans in our tristate area.

Indeed, we have accomplished huge milestones such as the
Wounded Warrior Appreciation Day at
Lake Holiday Estates, when we saw
FIVE (5) Veterans’ hospitals -
130 Warriors show up at one Event with their families.
Truly a magnificent day and a day to be repeated.

Many Events and Programs occurred last year.
Since then, we have formed a
Sports Committee that has seen one actual
Cross Bow hunt take place last August and two more
Events coming up this year as well.
This Sports Committee will be a
vital and critical link to our commitment to
America’s new Warriors.
In the days to come we will resume our activities at the
Martinsburg VAMC and other hospitals.

Together, with our other in-place Programs,
We will have become a Unified, Productive, Full Service, and
Essential VSO for our Community and the tristate area.

Our Membership continues to grow steadily with
active-minded and committed-to-cause Members.
Our mission is clearly defined and our direction well
established.
Our creative Fund Raising efforts have, as well, been a
success and will continue to grow to support our financial
needs to assist
Disabled Veterans in the years to come.

Let it be stated that we do understand life’s many situations
that prevents some of our regular
Members not to be involved as much as they would like to be.

We Thank all of you for the years that you contributed and
the thousands of hours to enable Chapter # 9
to be what it is today. For those who can attend with current
Membership, we most assuredly look forward to
seeing you and working with you once again.

If you would like to attend, please call us and we will do our
best to assist in getting you there and home again.
Once again, I salute our active
Membership within the DAV9 and the DAVA9 for a
“Job Well Done”.

Elections will be here in June,
so I ask all to participate and support those nominated
and encourage anyone qualified to run for a working
Officer’s Position.

As a Chapter Officer (Commander - appointed or elected)
much co-operation and hands-on work will be required of
you to fulfill those responsibilities.

"Job Well Done",
and as your Commander,
you have made me very proud to be associated
with you and serve alongside of you all.
